Anambra: Native Doctors Face Charges for Money Rituals
Three native doctors in Anambra State—Onyebuchi Okocha (also known as Onyeze Jesus), Chidozie Nwangwu (popularly called Akwa Okuko), and Ekene Igboekweze (known as Eke Hit)—have been arraigned before the State High Court on charges related to alleged criminal activities, including involvement in money rituals and aiding criminals.
The arraignment took place before Honourable Justice Jude Obiorah, with each defendant facing separate charges concerning the preparation of money rituals and protective charms for criminal elements.
The case has been adjourned to April 11, 2025, for further proceedings.
This development follows recent efforts by Anambra’s native doctors to collaborate with the state government in regulating traditional practices and identifying fraudulent practitioners.
