Tragic Cult Violence in Osun: One Fatality, Four Hurt
On April 8, 2025, a violent clash between rival cult groups at Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY) in Iree resulted in one person feared dead and four others critically injured. The altercation reportedly began due to a dispute over a female student, escalating into a broader conflict between the groups.
The confrontation occurred near the institution’s main gate, causing panic among students and staff as gunshots were fired. A disturbing video circulating online depicts a victim being brutally attacked by multiple individuals wielding axes and hammers.
Authorities have been alerted, and efforts are underway to apprehend those responsible and restore order on campus. The institution’s management has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
