Governor Soludo Reveals 23 Anambra Indigenes Facing Death Penalty
Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has revealed that 23 indigenes of the state are currently on death row in Indonesia for drug-related offenses.
Speaking on April 9, 2025, during a political rally welcoming defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Soludo highlighted the deceptive practices of certain native doctors who mislead youths into believing that charms can render them invisible to airport security scanners.
This misinformation has led many to engage in drug trafficking, resulting in severe legal consequences abroad.
Governor Soludo emphasized his administration’s commitment to cracking down on individuals promoting such fraudulent practices, distinguishing between genuine traditional worship and those exploiting cultural beliefs for criminal purposes.
He challenged any native doctor claiming to possess the power to make individuals wealthy to come forward, expressing skepticism about such assertions.
