Lil Nas X Denies Charges: Not Guilty to LA Assault Allegations
On August 25, 2025, Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, pleaded not guilty to four felony charges—three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer—following his arrest in Los Angeles on August 21, 2025.
The incident occurred around 6 a.m. on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, where police responded to reports of a man walking nearly naked, wearing only underwear and cowboy boots. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Hill allegedly charged at officers, punching one twice in the face, leading to his arrest for battery on a police officer. Authorities suspected a possible drug overdose, and he was briefly hospitalized before being booked at Valley Jail in Van Nuys.
A law enforcement source noted uncertainty about whether Hill was under the influence or in mental distress. His bail was set at $75,000, with conditions to attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings or an outpatient drug program.
Hill’s attorney, Christy O’Connor, called the incident an “absolute aberration” in his life, denying drug use. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 15, 2025. If convicted, Hill faces up to five years in prison.
