Anti-Corruption Measures: Imo Police Discipline Officers for Extortion
The Imo State Police Command has initiated an orderly trial for police officers who were caught on camera taking bribes from commercial bus drivers.
This trial is part of a disciplinary action aimed at addressing misconduct within the force.
One officer, identified as Inspector Isong Osudueh, was specifically caught extorting money from motorists along the Owerri-Onitsha expressway.
As a result of this viral footage, Osudueh has been recommended for a reduction in rank following an orderly room trial.
The police authorities are determined to maintain professionalism and have issued warnings to officers engaging in corrupt activities, stressing that such behavior will not be tolerated.
