CBN commitment to economic stability
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has restated its commitment to ensuring macroeconomic stability, pledging to continue implementing policies that strengthen the financial system and support growth.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the apex bank said it will sustain its efforts to stabilize the foreign exchange market, curb inflation, and encourage investment inflows. The CBN emphasized that its recent monetary interventions are already yielding results, with improved liquidity and growing investor confidence.
Acting CBN spokesperson noted that the bank’s policy direction is focused on price stability, exchange rate management, and fostering credit access to key sectors such as agriculture and manufacturing.
“The CBN remains committed to policies that will safeguard the naira, control inflation, and drive sustainable economic development,” the statement read.
Economists welcomed the reassurance but urged the bank to coordinate more closely with fiscal authorities, stressing that long-term stability depends on tackling structural issues like insecurity, infrastructure gaps, and oil revenue fluctuations.
