Ogun Gateway Airport operations
The Ogun State Government has announced that the Ogun Gateway International Airport will officially commence operations on October 7, 2025.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, who disclosed this at a press briefing in Abeokuta, said the facility will open with both domestic and international flight services, positioning the state as a key aviation hub in Southwest Nigeria.
He noted that the project would enhance trade, tourism, and industrial development, while also easing air traffic congestion in Lagos.
“Ogun Gateway Airport is a game changer. It will attract investors, create jobs, and serve as a major gateway for business and leisure,” Abiodun stated.
The airport, located along the Iperu-Ilishan axis, features a 4.2km runway, state-of-the-art terminal, cargo facilities, and aviation support services.
Aviation experts believe the launch will boost economic activity in the state’s industrial corridors, particularly in Agbara, Sagamu, and Abeokuta.
