Osun LG workers strike NULGE
The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Osun State has announced that council workers will not resume work on Monday as earlier scheduled.
The union said the decision followed unresolved issues with the state government regarding salary arrears, welfare packages, and implementation of agreements reached during previous negotiations.
According to NULGE leaders, workers remain committed to their duties but will not return until their demands are addressed. They emphasized that the strike action was not political but a legitimate struggle for fair treatment and improved working conditions.
The development has raised concerns among residents who rely on local government offices for essential services, with fears that the industrial action may further disrupt grassroots administration.
The Osun State government has yet to issue an official response to NULGE’s latest declaration.
