Ratcliffe sparked backlash after claiming in a media interview that the UK had been “colonised by immigrants”, comments that were condemned by political leaders — including UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer — and fan groups for being offensive and divisive. The billionaire later offered an apology, saying he was sorry if his choice of language had offended people, but maintaining his intention was to highlight immigration policy issues.
