Major Boko Haram Surrender in Borno: Implications for Security
A high-profile Boko Haram terrorist, Bochu Abacha, has surrendered to the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in Kukawa, Borno State. Abacha, who had been involved in several terrorist operations along the Monguno-Baga axis, turned himself in to the troops due to increasing military pressure and his declining commitment to the insurgency.
He handed over an AK-47 rifle, a magazine loaded with 11 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, a mobile phone, an Airtel SIM card, and N32,500.
The MNJTF reported that Abacha is now providing valuable intelligence to aid further military operations. This surrender marks a significant victory in the ongoing fight against Boko Haram in the region
