Understanding Nigeria’s Economic Challenges: Akpabio Speaks
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has stated that the current economic hardship in Nigeria should not be attributed to President Bola Tinubu.
According to Akpabio, the economic difficulties being faced by Nigerians are a result of long-standing structural issues and global economic challenges that predate Tinubu’s administration.
Akpabio emphasized that Tinubu inherited many of these challenges, including high inflation, debt, and the removal of fuel subsidies, which were necessary but painful economic reforms.
He also highlighted that the new administration is working on strategies to address these issues, including efforts to stimulate the economy, attract foreign investment, and implement measures to alleviate the suffering of the population.
Akpabio’s remarks appear to be an attempt to defend Tinubu’s government amid growing frustration from the public over rising costs of living, unemployment, and other economic hardships.
He encouraged Nigerians to be patient, noting that economic recovery would take time as the government rolls out its plans.
