Abuja’s Clean-Up: Wike Targets Street Beggars
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has issued a five-day quit notice to street beggars in Abuja, mandating them to leave the streets.
This directive is part of Wike’s broader effort to clean up the city and address concerns related to insecurity, as he believes some criminal elements are disguising themselves as beggars.
He emphasized that the influx of street beggars has been linked to an increase in criminal activities, and his administration is determined to curb this trend for the safety and order of the Federal Capital.
This action follows similar moves Wike has made since assuming office, as he continues to enforce strict measures aimed at restoring order to Abuja.
