Human Rights in Peril: Bobrisky Challenges EFCC and Nigerian Security Agencies
Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other security agencies of violating his human rights.
In response to alleged harassment, Bobrisky filed a lawsuit seeking a restraining order to prevent further actions such as arrests or detentions against him.
He described an incident where EFCC operatives allegedly removed him from a flight, which he says exacerbated his health issues and disregarded his fundamental rights.
Bobrisky also shared details of a lawsuit in which he is demanding ₦1.2 billion in damages: ₦1 billion from the National Assembly for violating his right to fair hearing and ₦200 million from the EFCC for psychological trauma.
He argued that his rights under Nigerian law and international human rights charters were ignored in their handling of various allegations against him.
