Exciting News for International Students: Unlimited Work Hours Now in Canada!
Canada has updated its policies for international students, now allowing them to work up to 24 hours per week off-campus during regular academic terms, an increase from the previous limit of 20 hours.
This adjustment aims to provide students with greater financial flexibility and opportunities for work experience without compromising their studies.
Students can also work full-time during scheduled academic breaks.
To qualify for this, students must:
- Be enrolled full-time at a recognized Designated Learning Institution (DLI).
- Be in an eligible program lasting at least six months and leading to a diploma, degree, or certificate.
- Have a valid study permit with conditions that allow off-campus work.
- Possess a Social Insurance Number (SIN).
Certain students, such as those in language or preparatory programs, or those with permits prohibiting off-campus work, are not eligible.
