ACF Criticizes President Tinubu: How Economic Policies are Worsening the Situation
The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, expressing concerns that they have worsened the already dire economic and social conditions in northern Nigeria.
The ACF pointed to several key issues, including the removal of fuel subsidies, the free-floating of the Naira, and rising electricity tariffs.
They argue that these policies, combined with an increase in taxes and a sense of profligacy among public officials, have led to runaway inflation, widespread unemployment, and deteriorating living standards for ordinary citizens, particularly in the north.
The forum also highlighted that the government’s handling of security, education, and regional disparities has failed to address the urgent needs of the people.
They called for the administration to reconsider its economic strategies to mitigate the growing hardship, with a particular focus on improving citizens’ purchasing power and reducing taxes and levies.
They also expressed concern over escalating insecurity, warning that if these issues are not addressed, it could lead to significant social unrest.
