TCN Reports Repeated Vandalism: Ahoada-Yenagoa 132kv Power Line Under Siege
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has reported that vandals have once again attacked the Ahoada-Yenagoa 132kV power line, causing significant disruption to power supply in the region.
This marks another instance of widespread vandalism of critical national infrastructure, which has plagued Nigeria’s power sector for years.
The attack resulted in the damage of power transmission equipment, leading to power outages in several areas serviced by the Ahoada-Yenagoa line.
The TCN has condemned the act, stating that it hampers efforts to stabilize and improve electricity supply, which is already a challenge in many parts of the country.
Such vandalism, often driven by the theft of valuable materials like copper cables, continues to be a serious problem.
TCN has vowed to work with security agencies to investigate the incident and bring the culprits to justice. Meanwhile, efforts to repair the damage and restore power are ongoing, though the process may take some time.
