Justice Served: 25-Year Sentence for Fatal US Shooting of Nigerian Mom
Susan Lorincz, a 60-year-old Florida woman, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the fatal shooting of Ajike Owens, a Nigerian-American mother of four, in June 2023.
The incident occurred after Lorincz, during a heated dispute with Owens’ children, fired a single shot through her door when Owens confronted her at her home in Ocala, Florida.
The case highlighted racial tensions and the misuse of self-defense claims, drawing widespread attention. Lorincz was convicted of manslaughter earlier this year.
