On March 29, 2025, Mr. Godwin Anuka was abducted along with his wife and two young children while working on their farm in Ubulu-Uku, Delta State. This occurred after the kidnappers had already taken two other individuals, Chibueze and Mr. Afam Soeze, from nearby locations.
The abductors, suspected to be armed Fulani herders, demanded ransom for the release of their captives. Despite efforts by the Ubulu-Uku Central Vigilante team and the Nigerian Army, mobilized by local authorities, to secure their freedom, the kidnappers fatally shot Mr. Anuka in the presence of his family. The other victims were later released after a ransom was paid.
