In Anambra State, unknown gunmen recently attacked a police station in Umunze, Orumba South Local Government Area, killing two officers and setting part of the station ablaze.
This incident marks the second such attack in the state within two weeks, raising concerns about escalating violence.
The attackers reportedly used explosives during the assault, and five unexploded devices were recovered afterward. Security forces have been deployed to track the perpetrators, and investigations are ongoing.
In a separate incident, another police station in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, was targeted by gunmen who killed two officers and razed the facility.
The attackers also moved to the nearby police quarters during the assault.
These attacks underline growing insecurity in Anambra, prompting officials to urge public cooperation in combating these violent acts.
