Anambra State Cracks Down on Oke Ite Practices: Church at the Center Closed

The Anambra State Government has taken decisive action against practices associated with “Oke Ite” by sealing a church in Amafor village, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area. The church, led by Pastor Onyebuchi Okocha, also known as ‘Onyeze Jesus,’ was reportedly involved in activities linked to the controversial “Oke Ite” rituals. This move is part of the state’s broader efforts to curb illicit and unapproved religious practices that may exploit or harm the populace.

In a related development, authorities recently sealed a shrine in Umuofor village, Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area. The shrine, operated by native doctor Ekene Igboegbueze, was allegedly used for “Oke Ite” rituals and activities associated with “Yahoo Plus” schemes. The government’s actions are in line with the Anambra State Homeland Security Laws, aiming to sanitize the state from criminal activities and protect its citizens from exploitation.
