The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has filed a legal suit against Andy Uba, a former senator from Anambra South, in connection with an alleged N400 million fraud.
Uba, along with Crystal Uba and Benjamin Etu, faces charges related to a scheme in 2022, where they allegedly deceived a man named George Uboh.
The defendants promised Uboh they could secure an appointment as the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for a substantial fee.
Uboh reportedly provided documentary and voice recording evidence in support of the claim. The trial has been scheduled for February 2025.
