The Nigerian Army’s 6 Division, in collaboration with other security agencies, has intensified its operations against oil theft in the Niger Delta region. In a recent operation, troops arrested eight individuals suspected of engaging in illegal bunkering and oil refining activities.
During this crackdown, they recovered over 90,000 litres of stolen petroleum products.
This operation is part of a broader effort to combat economic sabotage in the region. In previous operations, the army has arrested 29 suspected oil thieves, destroyed 42 illegal refineries, and confiscated approximately 197,000 litres of stolen diesel.
The Nigerian Army remains committed to eradicating illegal oil activities that undermine the nation’s economy and environmental health.
These operations are ongoing, with the military working diligently to apprehend perpetrators and dismantle illicit infrastructure associated with oil theft.
