Arsenal and Man United Compete for Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen: Top Striker Target for Arsenal and Man United

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has become a focal point in the transfer market, attracting interest from several top European clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United. Currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, Osimhen has delivered an impressive performance this season, contributing 26 goals and five assists in 30 appearances across all competitions.

Arsenal’s pursuit of Osimhen has intensified following a significant injury to their key winger, Bukayo Saka, who is expected to be sidelined for over two months after undergoing hamstring surgery. Manager Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster the team’s attacking options to maintain their competitive edge in the Premier League. Reports suggest that Arsenal is considering triggering Osimhen’s £66 million release clause at Napoli, though negotiations would need to involve both the Italian club and Galatasaray.

Manchester United is also in the race to secure Osimhen’s services. The club has reportedly opened talks with the striker’s representatives and is prepared to offer £63.3 million. United’s interest stems from a desire to enhance their goal-scoring capabilities, as they have struggled in this area during the current season.

In addition to Arsenal and Manchester United, other European giants such as Barcelona and Juventus are reportedly keen on signing Osimhen. Galatasaray, benefiting from his prolific form, is also interested in retaining him on a permanent basis. Osimhen’s current contract with Napoli runs until June 2026, with a reported £63 million release clause, leaving his future open to various possibilities.

Napoli appears open to a potential exchange deal involving Osimhen. The Italian club has expressed interest in Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund, with discussions suggesting a possible swap arrangement. This development adds another layer of complexity to the transfer saga, as clubs explore various options to secure the Nigerian forward’s signature.

As the January transfer window approaches, the competition for Victor Osimhen is expected to intensify, with multiple clubs vying for the striker who has proven his mettle in front of goal this season.
