In a tragic incident in Kaduna State, three residents of the Surubu community in Kauru Local Government Area were abducted on March 22, 2025, while attending to their daily activities. Despite their families paying a substantial ransom to secure their release, the victims were found dead in a forest during a military search operation on the night of March 24.
The deceased have been identified as Obadiah Dangana, Emmanuel Moses (popularly known as Bobbling Guy), and Danjuma Sardauna, all hailing from the Kusheka and Kabene communities in Kumana Chiefdom.
The Surubu Community Development Association has condemned the killings, describing them as a heartbreaking escalation of insecurity in the region. They highlighted the urgent need for enhanced security measures to protect residents from such atrocities.
