Biden-Era App Users Ordered to Leave US: Urgent Update

Urgent: Migrants Using Biden App Must Exit US Now

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has revoked the parole status of migrants who entered the United States using the CBP One app, a system introduced during the Biden administration to manage asylum appointments at the southern border. These individuals have been instructed to leave the country immediately or face removal and potential permanent reentry bans.

The CBP One app, launched in January 2023, allowed migrants to schedule appointments at official ports of entry, after which they were temporarily paroled into the U.S. pending asylum outcomes and granted two-year work authorizations. However, the current administration has terminated this program, stating that canceling these paroles is a step toward securing borders and protecting national security.

Formal termination notices have been issued to affected individuals, urging them to voluntarily self-deport using the rebranded CBP Home app. Those who do not comply may face enforcement actions, including removal and permanent bans on reentry.

This policy change aligns with the administration’s broader efforts to tighten immigration controls and address concerns about the previous use of parole authority. Notably, migrants who entered under special programs such as United for Ukraine and Operation Allies Welcome for Afghans are exempt from this revocation.

The termination of parole for these migrants has raised concerns among advocacy groups and affected individuals, highlighting the challenges faced by those who had previously been granted temporary legal status and work authorization.
