The Nigerian Army, in collaboration with other security agencies, has successfully dismantled several bandits’ camps in Taraba State as part of an ongoing clearance operation.
The operation, carried out by troops of the 6 Brigade under Operation Whirl Stroke, targeted criminal hideouts in areas such as the Gampu Hills and Ban Yorro.
The troops encountered and overpowered the bandits, resulting in their retreat and the rescue of four kidnap victims, including the son of the Emir of Pupulle.
In addition to neutralizing threats in Yorro and Zing Local Government Areas, the army also apprehended a suspected bandit collaborator in Ardo-Kola Local Government Area.
These efforts aim to restore peace in the region and protect farmers during the harvest season. The public has been encouraged to provide credible intelligence to support the military’s efforts.
