Kaduna Forest Rescue: Police Free 23 Hostages from Kidnappers

On February 2, 2025, security operatives in Kaduna State successfully rescued 23 kidnapped victims during a joint operation in Kajuru Local Government Area. Acting on credible intelligence, the Divisional Police Officer of Kajuru Division, in collaboration with military personnel, advanced into the Doka village bush, where they encountered a gang of armed bandits attempting to relocate their captives to Kajuru Forest.

The security forces engaged the bandits, unleashing heavy casualties, which forced the assailants to retreat into the forest with gunshot wounds. This confrontation led to the safe rescue of the 23 victims, who had been kidnapped earlier in Kauru LGA. All rescued individuals have been reunited with their families. In response to the incident, the area has been placed under heightened surveillance and aggressive patrols to prevent further criminal activities.

The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents and emphasized continued collaboration with other security agencies to combat crime in line with Governor Uba Sani’s security vision for the state.
