Simon Ekpa, a leader of the separatist faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been arrested in Finland on charges related to terrorism.
Finnish authorities detained him for spreading terrorist propaganda through social media, allegedly inciting violence in Nigeria’s southeastern regions.
The arrest follows ongoing investigations into his activities, which reportedly included promoting violence and sit-at-home orders that disrupted the region and led to loss of life and property damage.
Along with Ekpa, four other individuals were arrested over similar charges.
