A 16th birthday party at Elm Park Primary School in Havering, Essex, turned violent when a group of approximately 50 youths, some reportedly armed with knives and machetes, stormed the event on March 22, 2025, around 9 p.m.
The intrusion led to chaos, with attendees fleeing and two teenagers sustaining stab wounds—a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man. Both were hospitalized with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
Residents described the scene as “two hours of utter mayhem,” noting that the youths were seen drinking and inhaling balloons before entering the school hall. The situation escalated into street fights, prompting a police response.
Officers faced aggression upon arrival, with some being attacked, though none required hospitalization. Three teenagers were arrested on suspicion of assaulting emergency workers and have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
