In Gidan Abe, a community in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, bandits intercepted a man on a motorcycle who was transporting foodstuffs and drinks purchased for Christmas celebrations.
The incident occurred on Saturday, December 21, 2024, around 5:23 p.m., as the man was returning from Katari to Gidan Abe village. The assailants, also on motorcycles, blocked his path and seized the items. Fortunately, the victim was neither harmed nor abducted.
A community leader from the area confirmed the incident, noting that the bandits fled with the food items without causing physical harm to the man.
As of the latest reports, the Kaduna State Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
This event highlights the ongoing security challenges in parts of Nigeria, where banditry and attacks on travelers remain prevalent. Residents are advised to exercise caution, especially during festive periods when movements increase.
