The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates will begin on Friday, October 25, 2024.
This second series of exams will run until December 20, 2024.
WAEC has implemented a hybrid system for the exams, where candidates will answer multiple-choice questions digitally, while essay and practical questions will be displayed on-screen but answered using traditional paper booklets.
Additionally, candidates have the option to choose a fully paper-based format if they prefer.
Registration has been extended to October 29, 2024, with the option for walk-in candidates available 24 hours before each exam.
This move towards computer-based testing represents a significant shift in WAEC’s approach to administering exams.
