Court Freezes PSG Accounts in Mbappe’s Wage Dispute

PSG Accounts Frozen Amid Mbappe’s €55 Million Wage Issue

Kylian Mbappé’s legal team has taken decisive action in a dispute with his former club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), over €55 million in alleged unpaid wages and bonuses. On April 10, 2025, a Paris court authorized the precautionary freezing of PSG’s accounts to the amount in question.

The conflict centers on Mbappé’s claim that PSG owes him three months’ salary and a portion of a loyalty bonus following his departure to Real Madrid as a free agent in 2024. Despite previous attempts at mediation, including an order from the French League (LFP) for PSG to pay the amount, the dispute remains unresolved.

In response to the court’s decision, PSG expressed confusion over Mbappé’s choice of legal avenues, asserting that the labor chamber is the appropriate forum for such disputes. The club maintains that Mbappé should honor his commitments and has indicated readiness to present evidence supporting their position.

A legal hearing is scheduled for May 26, 2025, to further address the matter. This development underscores the escalating tensions between Mbappé and PSG, highlighting the complexities involved in high-profile contractual agreements within professional football.
