Abia Court Holds Suspect for Alleged Murder of Poland Returnee

A Mobile Court at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Umuahia, Abia State, has ordered the remand of 40-year-old Ebochue Kingsley Uzoka for his alleged involvement in the murder of Chimaobi Anya Ojo.

The suspect faces charges of conspiracy and murder under Sections 324 and 319(1) of the Criminal Code. The court has adjourned the case to February 19, 2025, and directed the Chief Registrar of the Magistrate Court, Umuahia North, to forward the original case file to the Attorney General of Abia State for further prosecution.

The victim, 36-year-old Chimaobi Anya Ojo from Elu Ohafia in Ohafia Local Government Area, returned from Poland in February 2024 to reunite with his newborn daughter and establish a home for his family. Tragically, he was killed shortly after celebrating his daughter’s first birthday on September 8, 2024.
