Cubana Chief Priest, a prominent nightlife entrepreneur, has pledged to secure the release of musician Speed Darlington from police custody.
Speed Darlington, known for his controversial persona, was arrested in Owerri, Imo State, over allegations of cyberstalking fellow artist Burna Boy. Prior to this, he had been detained in Lagos, transferred to Abuja, and held by the Inspector-General of Police’s Intelligence Response Team.
On January 5, 2025, Cubana Chief Priest announced his intention to intervene, stating on Instagram, “Tomorrow we coming for you, Akpi Nwamama (Speed Darlington). Monday is almost here. Make we now show power.”
This development occurs amid an ongoing online dispute between Burna Boy and Cubana Chief Priest. A video recently surfaced showing Burna Boy gifting $30,000 to a man claiming to be Cubana Chief Priest’s relative. Cubana Chief Priest refuted this claim, clarifying that the individual is not his biological brother and asserting that he owes nothing to distant relatives.
