The Dangote Refinery has clarified that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has not authorized the sale of petrol to marketers.
This statement comes in response to claims made by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), which suggested that the refinery was set to begin selling petrol.
The Dangote Refinery emphasized that any announcements regarding the sale of petrol will come directly from NNPC and that it is currently not engaged in the sale of petroleum products.
This clarification aims to manage expectations and prevent misinformation regarding the refinery’s operations as it prepares to commence production.
The ongoing discussions about the availability of petrol and pricing in Nigeria remain critical, particularly in light of recent fuel supply challenges.
