Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Policy, has criticized Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, labeling him a “failed politician” and questioning his understanding of democracy.
This criticism follows Obi’s remarks at the 60th birthday colloquium for former Deputy Speaker Emeka Ihedioha in Abuja on March 24, 2025, where Obi expressed concerns about the state of democracy in Nigeria, stating that the progress made since 1999 had been eroded.
In response, Bwala, via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, questioned Obi’s contributions to democratic activism, suggesting that during pivotal moments in Nigeria’s democratic history, Obi was more focused on business ventures.
Bwala further accused Obi of instigating hate speech and vitriol, emphasizing that “talk is cheap.”
