Darius Ishaku Granted N150 Million Bail in Fraud Case

Former Taraba Governor Faces N27 Billion Fraud Charges

Former Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku has been granted bail in the sum of N150 million by a court following his arraignment over an alleged N27 billion fraud.

The ex-governor, who is facing charges related to financial mismanagement and embezzlement during his time in office, appeared in court where the conditions for his bail were set.

The court also required Ishaku to provide two sureties who must have landed property within the jurisdiction of the court as part of the bail conditions.

This development follows an ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption against the former governor, with the case drawing significant attention due to the large sums involved.

Ishaku’s legal team has expressed confidence in their ability to defend the former governor, while anti-corruption agencies continue to push for accountability.

The case is one of several high-profile trials involving former Nigerian political office holders accused of corruption. Further hearings are expected as the trial progresses.
