During the World Economic Forum in Switzerland on January 20, 2025, David Beckham expressed his desire for his 13-year-old daughter, Harper, to have the same opportunities as her three older brothers.
He emphasized that this aspiration should extend to all girls worldwide. Beckham highlighted the unique challenges faced by girls, stating, “Today, there are more children in need and at risk than at any time in recent history and it is always the most vulnerable children who face the biggest challenges—especially girls.”
He called for more than just words, advocating for increased opportunities, collective action, and investment to unlock their potential. Recognized as a cultural leader at the event, Beckham received the Crystal Award for his cultural impact and humanitarian efforts.
As a UNICEF goodwill ambassador since 2005, he aims to be a strong advocate for children.
