Nigerian musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has publicly criticized the Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Abba, over the ongoing political crisis in Osun State. The tensions arose when sacked local government chairmen from the All Progressives Congress (APC) attempted to reclaim their positions, leading to violent clashes. In response, Davido accused the police commissioner of failing to uphold the rule of law, expressing his frustration through a series of posts on social media.
However, upon further reflection, Davido retracted his earlier criticism. He acknowledged that his initial comments were made in the heat of the moment and recognized the efforts of CP Mohammed Abba and other security agencies in striving to maintain peace in the state. Davido stated, “The bloodshed of today infuriated me so much that I heaped all the blame on the Commissioner of Police… I now see that the issue is more than that of the Commissioner of Police or other security chiefs.”
