South Africa: DNA Clears Man in Statutory Rape Allegation
Ditebogo Frans Gololo was arrested in December 2024 after a 13-year-old girl gave birth on Christmas Day in Seshego, Polokwane, South Africa.
He was accused of statutory rape, but DNA test results have now confirmed that he is not the father of the child.
Following this revelation, Gololo was granted bail, and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is reviewing the case to determine the next steps.
The case has sparked discussions about wrongful accusations, teenage pregnancies, and the protection of young girls in South Africa.
