Trump’s incoming administration, alongside the outgoing Biden team, is working to secure the hostages’ release. Steve Witkoff, Trump’s friend and pick for special envoy to the Middle East, mentioned progress in negotiations and plans to continue discussions in Doha, Qatar.

Hamas has reiterated its demand that Israel end its assault on Gaza in exchange for the release of hostages.
