Edo Gov Election Tribunal Judgment Set for Wednesday

Wednesday’s Key Judgment in Edo Gov Election Tribunal

The Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has scheduled its judgment for Wednesday, April 2, 2025, regarding the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo, challenging the outcome of the September 21, 2024, gubernatorial election in Edo State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the election. The PDP and Ighodalo contested this result, leading to the tribunal’s involvement.

The tribunal, a three-member panel led by Justice Wilfred Kpochi, reserved judgment on March 3 after parties adopted their final written addresses. The upcoming verdict is highly anticipated and is expected to significantly impact the political landscape of Edo State.
