The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested two suspects in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for alleged mutilation and abuse of the Nigerian Naira.
These arrests were part of a broader crackdown on financial crimes, including currency racketeering and illegal sale of new naira notes.
The agency has been enforcing stricter measures to curb such practices, which are considered violations of Nigeria’s currency regulations.
This operation is part of the EFCC’s nationwide efforts to uphold laws against naira abuse and ensure the integrity of the financial system.
The suspects are expected to face prosecution following ongoing investigations.
