The Nigerian Federal Government has assured that electricity will be restored to the northern regions within 72 hours.
This commitment follows significant power outages caused by recent disturbances in the national grid, which have particularly affected the northern states.
The Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has convened emergency meetings with the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to address the issues and ensure a swift resolution.
The ongoing challenges stem from equipment failures and maintenance issues, which have led to widespread blackouts. In response, TCN has deployed teams to trace and repair faults in the transmission lines.
The government aims to stabilize the grid and improve power supply reliability in the affected areas
