The Enugu State Government has strongly condemned Simon Ekpa, labeling him a terrorist, con artist, and inciter of violence in southeastern Nigeria.
This statement follows his recent arrest in Finland on terrorism-related charges, including incitement to violence and alleged links to separatist propaganda. F
innish authorities accused Ekpa of using social media to promote harmful activities and disrupt peace in the region, with allegations dating back to 2021.
The Enugu government, led by Governor Peter Mbah, expressed readiness to provide evidence of Ekpa’s alleged atrocities.
They claim his actions have led to significant loss of lives and property, undermining the entrepreneurial spirit of the Igbo people.
Finnish police have also tied Ekpa and four others to terrorism financing, with investigations ongoing.
Authorities in Finland and Nigeria view this arrest as a critical step toward addressing cross-border incitement and violence, signaling international cooperation against such crimes.
