Barbaric Attack: Enugu State to Prosecute Husband for Severing Wife’s Hand

In a recent incident in Nsukka, Enugu State, a man, Sunday Onyeahanachi Echegi, allegedly severed his wife, Mrs. Chinonso Echegi’s hand during a domestic dispute. The victim was promptly hospitalized at Keptochukwu Hospital in Nsukka, where she is currently receiving medical attention.

The Enugu State Government has strongly condemned this act of domestic violence, describing it as “barbaric.” In line with its zero-tolerance policy towards domestic and gender-based violence, the government has ensured the arrest of the perpetrator.
