Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has refuted allegations made by former Head of Service, Dr. George Nwaeke, asserting that Nwaeke has been compromised and is disseminating false information.
In a statement released on March 29, 2025, Fubara addressed claims that he orchestrated the 2023 bombing of the Rivers State House of Assembly and collaborated with militants to sabotage oil pipelines. He described these accusations as baseless and politically motivated, urging the public to disregard them.
Fubara emphasized that Nwaeke, as Head of Service, would not have been privy to high-level political meetings, dismissing the notion that such events occurred. He highlighted his consistent advocacy for peace in Rivers State, even amidst provocations.
Fubara suggested that Nwaeke’s statements were influenced by external forces aiming to discredit his administration and undermine ongoing peace efforts.
