A fake police officer has been arrested in Kano for impersonating law enforcement and extorting money from residents.
Salisu Bala, a 31-year-old from Kurna Quarters, was caught on October 14, 2024, while wearing a black police uniform and camouflage cap.
He had been operating in areas like Sabon Gari, Fagge, and Koki Quarters, where he misled the public into believing he was part of the Police Special Constabulary.
During his arrest, officers discovered multiple police uniforms at his home, and Bala admitted to using illicit drugs and engaging in extortion activities.
The Kano State Police Command has warned that such impersonation and criminal acts will not be tolerated.
