The Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has arrested Kingsley Wanogho, a 42-year-old dismissed army sergeant and ex-convict, for impersonation, abduction, and theft.
On December 30, 2024, Wanogho accused a young man named Solomon of causing him to lose a gold ring. Claiming to be a military officer and displaying a fake identification card, he threatened to take Solomon to the army barracks in Oshodi.
Instead, with the help of an accomplice on a motorcycle, Wanogho transported Solomon to the Third Mainland Bridge, where they stole his iPhone 13 and money before abandoning him.
Following his arrest near Computer Village in Ikeja, Wanogho confessed to selling the stolen iPhone 13 for ₦150,000.
Recovered items include a Nigerian Army fez cap and a fake military ID card. The suspect has been handed over to the Special Squad of the Commissioner of Police, Ishola Olanrewaju, for further investigation.
