The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has intensified efforts to combat kidnapping activities in the region. In a recent operation, they neutralized a notorious bandit leader, Salisu Mohammed, also known as “Dogo Saleh,” who was responsible for multiple kidnappings and violent crimes along the Kaduna-Lokoja-Enugu highway and within the FCT.
Mohammed was apprehended on March 3, 2025, at Gidan Abe Forest en route to Bwari Area Council. During the operation, an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and ₦3,000,000 suspected to be ransom proceeds were recovered.
Subsequently, on March 4, 2025, a follow-up raid was conducted at a major bandit hideout in Kwasau Forest, Kagarko LGA, Kaduna State, targeting Mohammed’s gang. The operatives encountered armed resistance but successfully repelled the attackers. During the crossfire, Mohammed sustained fatal injuries inflicted by his own gang members and was later confirmed dead at Kubwa General Hospital.
